Emission Monitoring Systems Market in APAC is expected to grow at the highest CAGR between 2015 and 2020

Emission monitoring systems continuously monitor emissions and provide accurate measurements of NOX, CO, CO2, greenhouse gases, and other emissions. The increasing demand for process control improvements worldwide has increased the same for emission monitoring systems. APAC held the largest share of the emission monitoring systems market, followed by North America. The market in APAC is expected to grow at the highest CAGR between 2015 and 2020.  Asia-Pacific and North America are the key revenue pockets in the emission monitoring systems market.

APAC accounted for the largest market share of ~45% in 2014 and this region is expected to grow at the highest CAGR of 11.6% between 2015 and 2020. The growth is attributed to the increasing industrialization and urbanization in the APAC region. In APAC, China accounted for a large market share of ~42% in 2014, followed by Japan and South Korea. Air quality is a major concern for China; therefore, the Chinese Government has imposed strict emission regulations on industries. This has forced many large scale industries in China to install EMS to measure the concentration of harmful gases emitting from stacks. Further, the growth in power generation plants, cement, and mining industries in China is also one of the major factors responsible for the increasing adoption of emission monitoring systems. Additionally, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan have progressed very rapidly and manufacturers in these countries are fully equipped with emission monitoring systems for emission control. The developing countries such India are also focused on addressing environmental issues and improving their environmental regulations.

North America is the second largest market for emission monitoring systems and accounted for a share of ~22% in 2014.  The favorable economic conditions in the U.S. and concerns pertaining to emission of greenhouse gases, pollution, and environment have pushed process industries as well as manufacturing companies to deploy emission monitoring systems at their plant locations. In North America, the U.S. accounted for the largest market share, followed by Canada and Mexico. The increasing focus of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on reducing emission levels at manufacturing plants is expected to drive the emission monitoring systems market. North America is home to a large number of emission monitoring system suppliers such as General Electric (U.S.), Emerson Electric Co. (U.S.), Teledyne Technologies Inc. (U.S.), Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (U.S.), Honeywell International Inc. (U.S.), Parker Hannifin Corp. (U.S.), and Rockwell Automation Inc. (U.S.).
